Trooper Nabs Stabbing Suspect

WOLCOTT - State police said a lover’s triangle apparently triggered an argument that lead to a stabbing on East Port Bay Road in the village May 8; an alert state trooper was able to locate the suspect as the 911 advisory bulletin was broadcast.

RED CREEK - As peace marchers passed their trailer home on Route 104A in the village Sunday, Sean Keyes and Missy Utter came out to talk with them.
“We really think this war is crappy,” said Utter as she held her 11-month-old daughter, Abigail. “It’s really nice to see this going on in such a conservative area.”

Crime at 5-Year Low in Lyons

LYONS - According to recently published statistics from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, major crimes in the village of Lyons have dropped to the lowest rate in the past five years.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, the state police and police departments in Macedon, Newark, Palmyra and Sodus also showed crime indexes at five-year lows. Wolcott police were not included in the index and Clyde was up slightly.
