As I See It - Pete Stirpe’s Retirement and St. Anthony
Louise Hoffman Broach, Wayuga Editor Tuesday, December 5 2006

finally retire from a career (OK, several of them) that has been filled
with public service.
He’s been Wayne County’s personnel director since 1989.
I’ve known Pete for 23 years, which oddly, I have just realized is half
my life. I can still remember the first time that I talked to him - as
a 23-year-old newspaper reporter who thought she knew everything.

As He See It - Please Attend the Festival of Trees at the Wayne County Nursing Home
William Duncan Tuesday, December 5 2006

A person walking into the Wayne County Nursing Home might not notice
the Giving Tree near the entrance or the tree filled with decorations
made by veterans. They certainly won’t see the colorful tree decorated
by the kids in the Cub Scouts on the second floor.
The reason a person might not see these things is because of having to
walk through the doors and see the 30-plus trees in the halls of the
nursing home.
They are part of the annual Festival of Trees.
