Wayne Central’s Key Club Doing Great Things

Image 1572 ONTARIO - This past October, Wayne Central High School’s Key Club hosted its most successful Trick or Treat for UNICEF campaign yet. Student donations topped $320 and a video dealing with AIDS in Africa was aired with the morning announcements for the entire school.
UNICEF is a world-wide organization working to better the health and education of children. This year, the target population is the children suffering from the AIDS pandemic, particularly in Kenya, where one of every three children faces the prospect of being infected with HIV/AIDS.

Marion Central School Makes Disney an Educational Tradition

Image 1573 MARION - For 15 years, Sue Clark has brought groups of Marion Central School students to the Walt Disney World Resort for educational programs. In November, her latest group, accompanied by fellow teacher Sara Snyder, left New York to travel to Disney for two Disney Youth Education Series programs, “Disney’s World of Physics: Properties of Motion” and “Disney Production Arts and Sciences.”

Wayne Central High School Math Team is Victorious

Image 1574 ONTARIO - Wayne Central High School’s math team, the Radical Denominators, recently won the Monroe County Math League small school division with 67 points. Wayne Central’s top performers included: Ben Mears with 12 out of a possible 18 points and Emma Fink and Kara Hann each with 11 points.
