As I See It- Constituents Lose in Senate Power Struggle

Wednesday, June 17 2009

To the Editor:

Several weeks ago, your paper ran an article relative to the Roe Cobblestone School that we are in the process of restoring. We had three early historic maps donated to the Butler Historical Society for us to sell. Elder abuse can happen to anyone – a loved one, a neighbor, and when we are old enough, it can even happen to us. (National Center on Elder Abuse-NCEA).

To the Editor:

Jeff Hayes, in a letter last week to the Post Herald, regurgitated the talking points of Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh and the fact-free faction of the conservative movement. First, the fact that President Bush was the one that started the TARP program seems to have escaped Mr. Hayes’ notice, which begins to illuminate lack of accurate information gleaned from Fox “News” and right wing talk radio. President Obama has, I think foolishly, continued the outrageous Henry Paulson plan of forking over billions to the “too big to fail” institutions like Morgan Stanley and of course Goldman Sacks.
