Some corrections.  Silver Stars Seniors was incorrectly identified as Silver Sneakers Seniors.  The former Caboose eatery at 249 Sodus St. in Clyde is under new management and is called  Bigg Daddy’s Dogg Haus.  They serve breakfast, and have a variety of lunch or dinner foods available.  Dine-in or take-outs available.  Call 923-2009 for more information.  
New Rotary Officers / Golf Tourney
Melody Alaimo-Ellwood was installed as the new president of the Clyde Rotary Club on June 25 at a picnic held at the Ellwood residence.  Other officers for 2009-2010 are: Secretary/Bulletin Editor Fran Burt and Treasurer Barb Harper. Club members welcomed Frank Lee. He joined the Rotary Club in 1974 and has been a member for 35 years.

Robert and Alberta Ahrans Sloan were married 65 years ago on June 3, 1944.  Bob’s attendant was his sister, Doris Brown and Bert was attended by her brother, Don Ahrans.  The wedding was performed by the Rev. Comstock at the Clyde Methodist Church.
A 65th wedding anniversary picnic was held Saturday, June 6 at Cayuga Lake State Park where the Sloans were camping.  Attending were their four children and their families including Joyce and Jim Bastian, Ahran Panek, Kurt Bastian, David and Marylou Sloan, Rachel and Joie, all of Seneca Falls, Dick and Bonnie Sloan, Jack and Margaret Sloan and Susan Disanto of Savannah and Susan’s friend Lannon Townsend of Port Byron.

2009 Sylvia Sparnon Memorial Reading Award

WOLCOTT - On June 24 at North Rose-Wolcott’s Florentine Hendrick Elementary  School, seven second graders received this year’s Sylvia Sparnon Memorial Reading Award. This award is given to those children who have made good progress in their reading skills.

Treasure Fest Plans

RED CREEK - Residents of Red Creek, along with church and civic groups, are busy pulling together final plans for the sixth annual Red Creek Village Treasure Fest, set for July 11.
This is a day when the village comes alive with visitors looking for great bargains, and there should be many, organizers said.
