ONTARIO – Wayne Central Middle School celebrated student achievement
and citizenship at the Annual Night of Awards ceremony on June 11.
Students were recognized for academic excellence. In addition, the
Larry Ruth Art Award and the JoAnne Huff Service award recipients were
announced.
At the end of the ceremony, special recognition was given to the
nominees and the two recipients of the Edward R. Courier Award. The
Courier Award is a prestigious award given to students for outstanding
academic performance and community service.
LYONS – Present: Supervisor James Fabino, councilmen Larry Hartwell, Brian Mankelow, Dan LaGasse; Town Clerk Sal Colatarci, Highway Superintendent Jake Emmel, Town Attorney Tony Villani, Lyons Mayor Corrine Kleisle, Ruth Marshall, Tony and Dolly Calabrese, Terry VanStean, Stuart Smart, Dr. Bob Hamilton, Jerry Ashley, Ann Salerno, Jim Brady.
Councilman Earl Buchanan was absent.
The April 22 minutes were approved.
Main Street Program Director Jerry Ashley was introduced and he briefly discussed the installation of the village sign at the corner of Geneva Street and Water Street. He is asking that the town and village highway departments work together to install the sign as part of in-kind services and the town board agreed.
