Valentine's Day Program at Williamson Library

Wednesday, February 3 2010

WILLIAMSON - The Friends of the Williamson Library will spotlight the artistry of Valentine’s Day on Feb. 17 when their “Sandwiched In” program features Lila Shoales and her collection of vintage Valentines. Shoales has resided in Williamson for many years and is the widow of columnist and local historian George Shoales. She has collected Valentines from her school days in the 1920’s and 30’s and has a treasure chest of memories and sentiment to share.  It will be a wonderful glimpse into the past when things were done a little differently than a quick email or text message.

Join the fun, share the love, and enjoy the program. It is free and open to all from noon - 1 p.m. in the library’s community room. An optional lunch can be reserved by calling the library at 589-2048 by noon on Tuesday, February 16.
