LYONS – A man who lived on Franklin Street near the CSX tracks was killed Jan. 30 when he apparently stepped in front of a freight train, Lyons Police Chief Michael Donalty said.

Weekend Event Will Encourage Community Cleanup Activities Along Canal System

ALBANY - In preparation for the upcoming 185th consecutive navigation season on the New York State Canal System and Earth Day 2010, the New York State Canal Corporation, in partnership with Parks & Trails New York, the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation and the New York State Consumer Protection Board, recently announced that it is seeking volunteers for the Fifth Annual Canal Clean Sweep scheduled to take place during the weekend of April 16 – 18.
