Four Teens Hurt in Lyons Crash
Tuesday, March 16 2010
LYONS - State police investigated a roll-over accident shortly after 2 p.m. March 14 on Brandt Road that hurt a Lyons teen and his three passengers. Troopers said Alec Haitz, 17, was southbound near 2057 Brandt Road when he dropped something, which police believe was a lighter, crossed the road and went off on the east side, hit a tree, rolled over and came to rest on the roadway. Troopers said his three passengers were Brittany Pangburn, 14, of Lyons, Dakota Turner, 13, of Clifton Springs and Brenna Barbera, 15 of Newark. Two of the passengers were taken by Mercy Flight to a Rochester Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, but there was no information on which passengers were airlifted. The other passenger and Haitz were taken to Newark-Wayne Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries. Haitz was issued five traffic tickets, including driving outside of his restricted license by having too many underage passengers in his vehicle, troopers said.
