Red Creek Revitalization Committee in Need of New Members

Tuesday, July 24 2007

To the Editor:

The Red Creek Revitalization Committee’s mission and goal is to build a sense of community in the residents of the greater Red Creek area. With this in mind, we hope this will help build business growth. In the past four years we have accomplished many achievements. We host a yearly Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Lighted Christmas decorations have been purchased through donations and the help of the village. Flower pots have been placed downtown. Through donations of residents and businesses, American flags have been put on poles throughout the downtown area. Care packages have been sent to our local men and women serving in Iraq. A web site has been established. Annually, there is a spring clean-up day, treasure fest day, and a fall festival. The list goes on. One of our biggest accomplishments, with the help from the village and community members, is that a vision plan has been completed for the village of Red Creek. All of these could not have been done without the support of the community.
The future of the committee is in jeopardy. Our committee is in desperate need for members. Without the support of new members from the community, the committee will be unable to move forward. We meet the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. in the community room at the rec center at the school. There are no membership dues. Meetings usually last an hour. Our next meeting is Aug. 2. Hope to see you there.
